The 2011 American Music Awards featured a slew of winners, with undoubtably Taylor Swift leading the pack. Not only did the pop / country starlet take home three wins, but one included the most prestigious of the evening — the Artist of the Year award.
Nick Minaj was close behind with two — beating out rhyme spitters Weezy, Hov, and Ye for favorite hip-hop artist and album. Although not in attendance due to throat surgery, Adele snagged three awards in the pop /rock category. Also absent this evening was Rihanna and Beyonce, who both earned R&B accolades.
