Just when you thought we were going to go a whole week without any Kate Middleton coverage, Buckingham Palace has opened its gates to an exhibit of Kate Middleton’s now iconic royal wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. And while it’s not like photos of the dress have been scarce, in this case, the beauty of the exhibit is in the details. The exhibit is called “The Royal Wedding Dress: A Story of Great British Design.” Tickets are selling out quickly, obviously.

The dress is on display alongside Middleton’s — now the Duchess of Cambridge’s — accessories from the royal wedding, including her shoes, earrings, a silk replica of her bouquet, and yes, the cake. While the exhibit’s curator would not reveal the size of Middleton’s wedding dress — she only offered up the somewhat obvious “small” as a descriptor — the takeaway seems to be that it was certainly diminutive. Her shoes, for those who have laid awake at night wondering, are a UK size 5.5, or a size 6.5 or so here.

And finally, the biggest takeaway might be the fact that the dress itself cost £270,000 — roughly the equivalent to $400,000. We’ll just let that sink in.

Tickets, should you find yourself in London, will run you £17.50 cost and the exhibit is open until October 3.
