Windows 8 Consumer Preview was just released a few days ago. And, obviously, since it was released until now, the beta version of the newest Windows OS
was downloaded by millions of users from all over the world, users who
want to find out more about the new Windows interface and who want to
test the new Windows features.
Compared to Developer Preview, a version that was released with many bugs and less features, Windows 8 Consumer Preview is already a functional system that can be used without too much problems.
And yet there are some risks for those who choose to use the Windows 8
Consumer Preview mostly because of the interface changes but also
because this is a beta version, and many apps we use on a day to day
basis are still not compatible with it.
Happily, hardware manufacturers make sure that users who want to test
the Windows 8 Consumer Preview can do it without having to deal with
drivers problems.
This is also the case of Nvidia, the biggest manufacturer of video cards for Windows who already released the first functional driver for Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
The Nvidia GeForce R295 driver, which was released on February 21, is compatible with Windows 8 32 bit as well as with Windows 8 64 bit and supports all video cards starting with the GeForce 6 series until GeForce 500 Series.
So, if you are using a computer equipped with a Nvidia GeForce video card and you installed Windows 8 Consumer Preview, you have to download this driver to improve your video experience.
