Freckles are flat, tanned circular spots that typically are the size of the head of a common nail. The spots are multiple and may develop randomly on the skin, especially after repeated exposure to sunlight. Most freckles on a person's skin are usually uniform in color. On different people, freckles may vary somewhat in
color -- they may be reddish, yellow, tan, light brown, brown, or black -- but they are basically slightly darker than the surrounding skin. They tend to become darker and more apparent after sun exposure and lighten in the winter months.

Freckles are thought to develop as a result of a combination of genetic tendency (inheritance) and sun exposure. Two people receiving the same sun exposure may not have an equal chance of developing freckles. Natural sunlight and artificial suntanning lights emit ultraviolet (UV) rays.

1. Strawberry Paste

Strawberries are one of the best ways to get rid of freckles! Strawberries have a lot of citric acid in them, which is proven to help fade freckles. Here’s how: Mash up a few fresh strawberries and apply them to face. Leave on for about 5 minutes, then rinse off. Cranberries will work if you don’t have strawberries on hand!

2. Parsley

Parsley is one very natural and effective way to get rid of freckles! This is what you need to do. Mix natural parsley juice with equal parts lemon juice, orange juice and red current juice. Then, cover your skin with the liquid just as if you were applying moisturizer and allow it to dry. Finally, apply your daily moisturizer over top. The citric acid in the juices will help to naturally get rid of freckles and make your skin glow. Do this every other day for results.

3. Soured Milk

This may sound a little gross, but it’s a proven way to get rid of freckles! The natural lactic acid in soured milk provides gentle peeling of the skin without harshly over-drying it. Rub soured milk onto your face for about 60 seconds and then rinse well to help get rid of freckles.

4. Radish

One of the most unique ways to get rid of freckles that I’ve ever discovered involves the use of radishes. Yes, that’s right. Radishes! They contain a natural bleaching agent that helps to lighten freckles. Here’s how: Grate a radish and mix it wit\h the juice of one lime. Blend it with the juice of one lime in a food processor, then apply to your face. Allow to dry and then rinse it off. It’s that simple!

5. Citric Juice

If you want to know how to get rid of freckles the most natural way possible, then you need to visit the produce section of your local grocery! Pick up a lemon, orange, and lime. Squeeze the juices all together into a bowl, then add a teaspoon of plain yogurt so that you have a paste. You will want to let this paste dry thoroughly before rinsing it off, and follow up with moisturizer so your skin won’t over-dry itself.

6. Castor Oil

We’ve all been threatened at one point or another with castor oil, mostly by well meaning mothers or grandmothers. Some of you may have even experienced the horrors of castor oil! But the truth is, castor oil is one of the best ways to get rid of freckles! Castor oil equalizes skin pigmentation and can be applied overnight, so no need to wash and rinse or mix and mash. Just slather it on, go to sleep, and watch your Freckles fade!

7. Vitamin E Oil

I love vitamin e oil, and not just because it’s a great way to get rid of freckles. Vitamin E oil is loaded with nutrients your skin needs to be healthy, and over time it fades freckles. Pop a vitamin E oil capsule with a pin and apply the contents to the area desired. It definitely smells better than castor oil! But you will love the results.
